Advanced Stroke and Dementia Prevention

Unfortunately, some important and medically recommended examinations are not included in the benefits catalog of statutory health insurance. We would therefore like to offer stroke and dementia prevention as an important preventive measure from our point of view. 25–30% of all strokes are, according to the latest research, due to atrial fibrillation. In Germany alone, this accounts for over 70,000 strokes per year.

Repeated studies have shown that atrial fibrillation is associated with cognitive decline and dementia. This applies to both vascular (blood vessel-related) dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. An estimated 500,000 people in Germany suffer from undiagnosed atrial fibrillation, often without noticeable symptoms. To reliably rule out atrial fibrillation, a long-term ECG lasting at least 48 hours should be performed, ideally covering two full sleep cycles. Diagnosed atrial fibrillation is easy to treat effectively.
